Acting as a focus as well as a resource for women, the centre aims to provide:

  • A befriending and listening service aimed at breaking down isolation and exclusion. It is the first step towards appropriate confidence building, education, training and health and well-being.

  • Women-specific services to survivors of rape, child abuse, sexual violence, domestic violence and crime.

  • Benefits advice, information and support for women and their families in a confidential setting.

  • Tailored individual education and training courses including ICT, OCN, OCR, ECDL, CPCAB Certificate and Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Communication, Management & Development, and Stress Management.

  • Assistance with CV production, job searching and interview techniques, presentation skills and job applications.

  • High quality, accessible and affordable childcare for women in training, seeking advice, respite care and support, and accessing employment.

  • Volunteering opportunities providing training and support to women and young people.

  • Support for parents as first educators by providing education, counselling and support projects for parents of young children.

  • Opportunities to participate in local forums, partnership boards, local and community networks.

  • Long-term support and specific information services to vulnerable groups to manage their own services explore and overcome specific problems and traumas.

  • Opportunities in the economic development of the community and to explore ways of supporting women to play a greater role in the economic life of the community.

  • Conferences, seminars and workshops on issues affecting women’s lives and the opportunity to contribute to social justice policy and consultations.

  • Networking and working in partnership with other women’s groups to exchange information and expertise.

  • Information, awareness raising and support of women’s cultural development.

  • Opportunities to lobby and campaign on issues affecting the lives of women.
