Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling TC-L4
Awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body CPCAB. The only qualification run for counsellors by counsellors.
This qualification is intended for candidates who want to train to become a counsellor working in a counselling service agency. This is an intense part time two year programme. Awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body CPCAB. Assessment consists of candidate portfolio and externally assessed audio recording and written paper. Minimum of 10 hours personal therapy during the life of the course (to accommodate a range of theoretical approaches). A minimum of 100 hours formally-contracted counselling one to one) with at least 5 different clients in an agency setting. Candidates also require continued clinical supervision for their agency client work. In addition, candidates require 30-50 hours group training supervision as part of the course.
CPCAB Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills & Theory (CBT-L5)
Awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body CPCAB. The only qualification run for counsellors by counsellors.
This qualification aims to enable counselling practitioners to achieve the CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills & Theory. This particular qualification has been designed for candidates who are already working as counselling practitioners and who want to develop their skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and use these skills as an integral part of their work. As a prerequisite to the programme Counselling Practioners are required to be working currently with clients within a professional framework in order to apply their learning on the programme and to meet the assessment requirements.
